ISO 3834-2:2005

high quality requirements

This certification is an important achievement for the company Arte Ferro s.r.l.

the title of the UNI EN ISO 3834 standard reads: Quality requirements for metal-melt welding welding, in particular part 2 (UNI EN ISO 3834-2), refer to extensive quality requirements.

The certification for the welding process UNI EN ISO 3834 Part 2 is absolutely necessary, as it is an essential prerequisite for making the complaint as a Steel Transformation Center to the Superior Council for public works under the D.M. 14/01/2008 Technical Standards for Construction (N.T.C.), and being indispensable for welding, and therefore building structures and parts of structures subject to fatigue stresses or placing in seismic zones!

Specifically, the standard defines the high quality requirements for welding by melting of metal materials both in the workshop and in the construction site.

This Standard provides:

Requirements Review and Technical Review

The manufacturer must re-examine the contractual requirements and any other requirements, as well as the technical data provided by the customer or company data when the construction is designed by the manufacturer. The manufacturer must make sure that all the information necessary to carry out the manufacturing operations is complete and available before The manufacturer must declare his ability to meet all the requirements and must ensure proper planning of all quality-related activities. When the manufacturer intends to use subcontracting services or activities (eg welding, inspection, checking non-destructive, thermal treatments), must provide the subcontractor with all the information necessary to meet the applicable requirements. The subcontractor must provide reports and documentation relating to his work in the manner that may be specified by the manufacturer.

Welding staff

The manufacturer must have sufficient and competent staff to carry out the planning, manufacture and supervision of welding production in accordance with the requirements specified. Welders and welding operators must be qualified by appropriate testing. The manufacturer must have suitable personnel coordination of welding activities. Such persons, being responsible for quality activities, must have sufficient authority to enable them to take the necessary action. The duties and responsibilities of such persons must be clearly defined.

Staff in charge of inspections and tests

The manufacturer must have sufficient and competent personnel in planning and manufacture, as well as for the supervision, inspection and testing of welding production in accordance with the requirements specified. Non-destructive inspection personnel must be qualified. A qualification test may not be required for visual examination. When a qualification test is not required, the competence must be verified by the manufacturer.

Equipment

The manufacturer must keep a list of the essential equipment used for the production. This list must indicate the characteristics of the main equipment, essential for the assessment of the work capacity and the suitability of the workshop. The manufacturer must have documented plans for the maintenance of the equipment. These plans must provide maintenance controls for those parts of the equipment that affect the variables listed in the corresponding welding procedure specifications. Plans can be limited to those parts of the equipment that are essential to ensure the quality of the welded construction.

Welding and related activities

The manufacturer must carry out an appropriate production planning. The manufacturer must prepare the specific welding procedure / specifications and ensure that they are properly applied in production. The welding procedures must be qualified prior to production. The qualification method must conform to the relevant product standards or as specified in the specification.

Welding materials

The manufacturer must prepare and apply procedures for the storage, handling and use of the feedstocks, so as to avoid moisture absorption, oxidation, damages, etc. The procedures must be in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturer of the supply materials. Storage must be done so that the base materials, including those provided by the customer, are not damaged. Identification must be maintained during storage.

Inspections and tests

Appropriate inspections and tests shall be carried out at the appropriate stages of the manufacturing process in order to ensure compliance with the contractual requirements. The location and frequency of such inspections and / or tests shall depend on the contract and / or produced by the welding process and the type of construction

Non-compliance and corrective actions

Measures should be taken to check items or activities that do not meet the specified requirements, so as to prevent inadvertently their acceptance. When repair and / or rework is performed by the manufacturer, descriptions of the appropriate procedures must be available in all jobs where repair or rework is being performed. If repairs have been carried out, the parts must again be inspected, tested and tested in accordance with the original requirements. Measures must also be taken to prevent repeated non-compliance.

Calibration and validation of measuring, inspection and testing equipment

The manufacturer must be responsible for the appropriate calibration or validation of the measuring, inspection and testing equipment. All equipment used to assess the quality of construction must be adequately controlled and must be calibrated or validated at specified intervals.

Identification and traceability

Identification and traceability must be maintained throughout the manufacturing process, if required.
