UNI EN 1090-2 Steel Structure
The standard specifies the requirements for the conformity assessment of performance characteristics of steel and aluminum structural components as well as kits placed on the market as building products.
The implementation of the current UNI EN 1090 Standard Project as a harmonized standard for product CE marking related to CPD Directive 89/106 / EC will be the future for structural steel structural carpenters.
Today much of the requirements of EN 1090 are referred to by D.M. 14.01.08 NTC in the future will be accepted by the 2+ Confidentiality Certification System and will become an integral part of the certification according to the EC Prescriptions associated with CE Marking, the concept now applicable only to Base Materials (beams, profiles, etc.) used by the Centers of Transformation Carpentry will therefore be extended to their transformation processes, currently in compliance with the requirements of the aforementioned decree, which involves the denunciation of activities at the Ministry of Infrastructure with the demonstration of the possession of the qualifications that the industry knows very well (ISO9001 + ISO3834 , EN 287, EN 15614, etc.).
With a voluntary application since December 1, 2010, and mandatory as of July 1, 2012 (now extended to July 1, 2014), it is inevitable that manufacturers will be faced with double standardization and will have to divide between national legislation and Community legislation, with the great advantage of having already a large part of the required requirements, as they are now mandatory and associated with the New Technical Standards for Construction - NTC.
The harmonized EC 1-2011 UNI EN 1090-1: 2009 "Execution of steel and aluminum structures Part 1: Requirements for the conformity assessment of structural components" provides precisely the requirements for the CE marking according to Directive 89 / 106 / EEC and European Reg. 305/2011. According to UNI EN 1090-1, companies that manufacture structures or parts of them, whether in steel or aluminum, must introduce a production control (FPC) compliant with UNI EN ISO 3834, to be subject to verification by a notified body issuing the Certificate of Conformity.
This EC mark is a declaration of conformity by which the manufacturer declares that he has supplied the product in accordance with the specifications described in his declaration, that declaration must be accepted throughout the European Union and the authorities concerned may not require any other requirements for product construction. EN 1090-1 indicates the requirements of which the CE declaration of conformity - conforms to the CE mark - must be complied with and what the declaration must state. EN 1090-1 does not contain rules governing structural design and construction calculations. Design and calculation standards are set out in the respective sections of the Eurocode, while construction requirements are in EN 1090-2 EN 1090-3. For the technical execution of the requirements for CE marking structures, EN 1090-1 refers significantly to EN 1090-2 for the construction of steel structures and EN 1090-3 for the construction of structures in aluminum. Requirements for all types of structures are defined according to a single standard, whether it is a simple roof of a large building or a static load beam of a dynamic rail load bridge.
